Jennifer Garvey is a board certified, comprehensive ophthalmologist concentrating in the treatment of medical eye diseases and cataract surgery.
Dr. Garvey completed her ophthalmology residency and medical internship at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC in 2009. She was selected to be chief resident in her final year of residency. Dr. Garvey received her medical training at the Ohio State University School of Medicine in Columbus, OH. She was recognized during her medical training for her extensive research in trabecular meshwork cells and their response to argon laser trabeculoplasty (a laser procedure for glaucoma). Prior to medical school, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree, Cum Laude, from Cornell University in 2001.
Dr. Garvey will also be the Director of our new “Comprehensive Ophthalmology Clinic” which will serve as the vehicle to develop new teaching programs in partnership with Maine Medical Center and Tufts Medical School in Boston.
Dr.Garvey’s practice is at Maine Eye’s Lowell Campus location at 15 Lowell Street in Portland.
