How has your refractive surgery impacted your life ?
It has been wonderful to live without glasses and without contact lenses since Lasik. I have the freedom to exercise now with perfect vision and without the hassle of having to put contact lenses in beforehand. I am also pleased with my appearance without glasses.
What did you like best about your surgical experience at Maine Eye Center ?
Everything about my surgery was explained beforehand. There were no surprises whatsoever making the entire experience more pleasant. There was excellent follow-up as well. I was also made to feel personally cared for and never once felt that I was being rushed through the process.
What did you like the least ?
I had some mild dryness for about 2 weeks after the procedure requiring a lot of saline drops for comfort. However, I was prepared for this beforehand.
Do you have any additional comments or suggestions ?
I would encourage everyone interested in the freedom of excellent vision without using glasses or contact lenses to strongly consider refractive surgery. My experience at the Maine Eye Center and with Dr. Morrison was excellent in every way and I am so pleased with my decision to undergo surgery there.

I felt the workup was very thorough. I felt well prepared. Realistic expectations were set forth well ahead of time.
What did you like the least ?
Having to reschedule my surgery because my acuity kept changing. Still, would rather have waited than precede prematurely.

How has your refractive surgery impacted your life ?
It has been dramatic. I was completely dependent on contact lenses & glasses and had significant dry eye issues from contact lens over-use. My vision and eye comfort has been excellent since the surgery. I am extremely pleased that I chose Dr. Morrison.
What did you like best about your surgical experience at Maine Eye Center ?
I was impressed by the thoroughness of the pre-op evaluation. I felt extreme comfort & care went into the planning of my procedure.
What did you like the least ?
No complaints – except having to give up my contacts for weeks to prepare for surgery. After weeks of glasses, I was more convinced than ever, to go through with the surgery.
Do you have any additional comments or suggestions ?
As a surgeon I clearly thought carefully about elective eye surgery. Dr. Morrison’s thorough Pre-op evaluation & candid discussion of risks gave me great confidence. I have recommended her practice to family members & colleagues.

The surgery has freed me from the bondage of eyeglasses and contacts.

Everyone there, from the receptionist, to the office manager, to the medical assistant and surgeon were all very professional, caring and adept.

Everything went so smoothly, I can’t honestly think of any negatives.

How has your refractive surgery impacted your life ?
After 25 years of wearing glasses and being essentially “blind” without them, it is a wonderful feeling to wake up in the morning and be able to see across the room without searching for my glasses. I can participate in sports and exercise activities without fear of breaking my glasses.
What did you like best about your surgical experience at Maine Eye Center ?
Maine Eye Center has a wonderful staff starting from the front desk all the way up to Dr.
Morrison. Everyone was professional and very friendly.
What did you like the least ?
The things I liked the least were issues that are common after Lasik surgery and had been explained to me ahead of time. I knew what to expect and it made the nuisances easier to deal with.
Do you have any additional comments or suggestions ?
I am not sure the Valium given pre=op had enough time to work since the time from arrival to getting into surgery was fairly short. I did not need it but for those with anxiety giving it a little time to work may be needed.
How has your refractive surgery impacted your life ?
I am less dependent on glasses, but still need them for driving at night or in low light situations.
What did you like best about your surgical experience at Maine Eye Center ?
The care was fantastic from start to finish. The best aspect was the professionalism among all the staff.
