Peter S. Hedstrom, M.D. is a fellowship trained retina and vitreous physician practicing comprehensive ophthalmology in the Portland community since 1982. His practice focus is in performing cataract surgery and in evaluation and treatment of diabetic eye disease and vitreo-retinal problems including macular degeneration.
After receiving his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, Dr. Hedstrom completed a residency in internal medicine, Harvard Service Boston City Hospital and Beth Israel Hospital, before devoting himself to the field of ophthalmology. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Pennsylvania, and went on to obtain fellowship training in diseases of the retina and vitreous at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Peter Hedstrom is certified by both the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Tufts University School of Medicine.
