Dr. Wajda was born and raised in central Pennsylvania, she migrated to the Philadelphia region in order to complete undergraduate studies at Moravian College followed by medical school at Jefferson Medical College where she was inducted into both the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and Gold Humanism Honor Society. Thereafter, her ophthalmology residency was undertaken at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia where she was co-editor of the Wills Eye Manual, and most recently had the opportunity to specialize in oculoplastic and orbital surgery with fellowship training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Dr. Wajda’s professional interests encompass comprehensive eyecare and the specialized subset of oculoplastic and orbital disease. Within these realms, common services include routine eye examination, cataract evaluation, and surgery, as well as medical/surgical management of disorders involving the eyelid(s) and surrounding structures, brow and forehead, tearing system, and orbit. Reconstructive procedures (such as those required after trauma or surgery), endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy, and the medical or cosmetic use of chemodenervation agents such as Botox are some additional areas of focus.
Outside of work, her interests include hiking and jogging, music (particularly with live shows at local venues), and all things related to coffee and a “foodie” lifestyle. Dr. Wajda is wholeheartedly excited to be joining the Maine Eye Family.
